Effects of Busing on Area Eligibility in CACFP, SFSP, and Afterschool Snack and Seamless Summer Option served through NSLP
This supersedes the May 20, 2003, version of the policy memo, Effects of Busing on Area Eligibility. In addition to programs originally provided for under this guidance, this memorandum adds the Seamless Summer Option to this policy.
In response to several inquiries, this memorandum provides guidance on the allowable consumption of FFVP fruits and vegetables by teachers.
The purpose of this memorandum is to clarify that SAE funds may be used for state administration of the FFVP, as well as to explain how the FFVP administrative funds provided under Section 19 of the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act, 42 USC 1769a, may be used.
Policy Memorandum No. FD-022, Adjusted Guide Rates for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables (issued June 9, 2003), is cancelled. Refer to Exhibit 0 of FNS Handbook 501 for the current guide rates for fresh produce.
Further Clarification in Crediting for, and Use of, Donated Foods in Contracts with Food Service Management Companies
The attached memorandum is Food Distribution Policy Memo FD-110, which clarifies requirements in crediting for, and use of, USDA donated foods in contracts with food service management companies, and provides guidance to ensure compliance with such requirements in the first and final years of such contracts.
This supersedes the Jan. 7, 2010, version of the policy memo, Exclusion of Military Combat Pay. In addition to combat pay and other income received by deployed service members, this memorandum addresses Deployment Extension Incentive Pay.
We have obtained the latest school enrollment and attendance figures from the Department of Education. For your information, the updated national average daily attendance factor for use during Coordinated Review Effort for School Year 2010-2011 is 94.4 percent.
This notice announces the national average value of donated foods or, where applicable, cash in lieu of donated foods, to be provided in school year 2011 (July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011) for each lunch served by schools participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), and for each lunch and supper served by institutions participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
