CSFP: Final Caseload Assignments for the 2020 Caseload Cycle and Administrative Grants

On Dec. 20, 2019, President Trump signed the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2020 which provides $245 million for CSFP for FY 2020. Based on this funding level, FNS is issuing a final national caseload allocation of 736,110 for the 2020 caseload cycle. This amount is equal to the 2019 national caseload allocation. FNS is allocating final caseload and administrative grants as provided in this memo.

Implementation of PL 102-342 Provision on Proprietary Title XX Center Participation in the Child and Adult Care Food Program

Section 17(a) of the National School Lunch Act (NSLA) previously allowed the participation of a proprietary Title XX child care center “if such organization receive[d] compensation under such title for at least 25 percent of the children for which the organization provides such nonresidential day care services.”

Permanent Agreements for All Summer Food Service Program Sponsors

The Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act requires that, when a single state agency administers the National School Lunch Program and any other child nutrition program, the state must have a single agreement and claim form for any School Food Authority which administer any combination of the programs.

Area Eligibility Duration in the Summer Food Service Program

In an effort to provide administrative relief to state agencies and Summer Food Service Program sponsoring organizations, we are extending to the SFSP a provision of the Child and Adult Care Food Program that allows state agencies and institutions to rely upon a determination of area eligibility for up to five years when based on National School Lunch Program data.
