Comment Request - Follow Up to An Assessment of the Roles and Effectiveness of Community-based Organizations in SNAP
The authority for this collection is provided for in the Child Nutrition Act of 1966. As required, FNS issued regulations which prescribes the methods for making payments of funds to state agencies to use for administrative expenses incurred in supervising and giving technical assistance in connection with activities undertaken by them under the National School Lunch Program, the Special Milk Program, the School Breakfast Program, the Child and Adult Care Food Program and the food distribution program.
This memorandum provides additional implementation guidance regarding the final rule titled SNAP Review of Major Changes in Program Design and Management Evaluations (“Major Changes Rule”) published in the Federal Register on Jan. 19, 2016.
The guidance that follows is intended to update earlier guidance provided to state agencies on the FNS process for improving SNAP application processing timeliness rates.
