Child Nutrition Programs Income Eligibility Guidelines (2013-2014)

This Notice announces the Department's annual adjustments to the Income Eligibility Guidelines to be used in determining eligibility for free and reduced price meals and free milk for the period from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014.

The interim rule entitled National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program: Nutrition Standards for All Foods Sold in Schools as required by the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 was published on June 28, 2013. The ICR for this rule approved the creation of a new information collection, which has been assigned the OMB Control Number 0584-0576. The Office of Management and Budget cleared the associated ICR on August 14, 2013. This document announces the approval of the ICR.

School Food Service Account Revenue from the Sale of Non-Program Foods

School program regulations at 7 CFR 210.14 (f) require all revenue from the sale of non-program foods to accrue to the nonprofit school food service account. Non-program food is defined as food sold in a school at any time or location on the school campus (other than reimbursable meals) purchased using funds from the non-profit school food service account.
