Guidance on State Option Food Stamp Programs

The Fiscal Year 1997 Supplemental Appropriations Act (P.L. 105-18) gave states the option of purchasing federal food stamps for use in state-funded food assistance programs that provide nutrition assistance to legal immigrants and childless, able-bodied adults ineligible for the Food Stamp Program because of the three-month food stamp time limit.

Use of School and Census Data

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide additional guidance on the use of school and census data to establish area eligibility in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), and the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Family Style Meal Service in the Child and Adult Care Food Program
