FY 2015 FDPNE Grant Program

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), authorized by the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (PL 110-246) authorizes FNS to award funds to Food Distribution Programs on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) to conduct nutrition education activities for FDPIR and FDPIR-eligible participants.

Since 2008, FNS has provided Food Distribution Program Nutrition Education (FDPNE) grants to Indian Tribal Organizations (ITOs) and State agencies (SAs). The primary goal of the FDPNE grants program is to fund current FDPIR allowance holders (i.e., an entity that has a direct agreement with FNS to administer FDPIR) to provide nutrition education services to FDPIR participants.
