Incident: Colorado Wildfire

Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP)

  • On Jan. 19, 2022, FNS approved Colorado’s request to operate D-SNAP in 1 county in response to the impact of the wildfires and straight- line winds that began on Dec. 30, 2021. On Jan. 2, 2022, President Joseph R. Biden issued a major disaster declaration with authorization for Federal individual assistance. FNS approved Colorado’s request to operate in the following county: Boulder.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

  • On Jan 15, 2022, FNS approved Colorado Department of Human Services request to waive the 10-day reporting requirement for replacement of food purchased with SNAP benefits that was lost as a result of power outages and extensive wildfires that began on Dec. 30, 2021. The waiver applies to the following Boulder County zip codes: 80303, 80021, 80026, 80027 and 80020. The waiver is in effect through Jan. 31, 2022.
