This is a follow-up to our Feb. 21, 2003, memorandum that announced the extension of the provision allowing some for-profit child care centers to participate in CACFP. The purpose of this memorandum is to provide guidelines on the submission of retroactive claims for reimbursement.
To be eligible for reimbursement under this provision, for-profit centers must submit the appropriate records to the State agency to document compliance with Program regulations. Retroactive claims are not subject to the 60/90 time frame in 226.10(e), however, all claims for retroactive reimbursement must be submitted to the state agency by May 1, 2003. State agencies must submit revised FNS-44 forms no later than June 1, 2003 for the affected months.
