Project Title: Supporting Long-term Breastfeeding with the New WIC Food Packages

State Agency: Vermont

Summary: Implementing & evaluating a social marketing campaign aimed at health care professionals to promote the new breastfeeding food packages & facilitate changes to lactation management systems to assist at-risk WIC mother to successfully meet their breastfeeding goals.

Project Title: Fruit and Vegetable Community Partnerships Grant

State Agency: Washington

Summary: The project will use the opportunities provided by the new WIC fruit and vegetable benefit to establish sustainable partnerships with local food systems groups and bring new resources and innovative ideas to WIC nutrition services. Local WIC agencies and their food system partners will be invited to submit applications for local collaborative projects, which will be chosen based on criteria such as innovation, feasibility, potential for sustainability and transferability, and contribution toward a balanced project portfolio.
