How Much Do You Eat? |
Did you know that there's a difference between servings and helpings?
- A serving is a measured amount of food, like 1/2 cup or one ounce. It's like a measuring tool.
- A helping is what most people usually eat. Helpings may be larger or smaller than servings. It all depends on how much you eat.
A Pyramid serving may be a smaller amount of food than what you usually eat. A good way to
help you figure out what you should be eating is to keep a Food Diary. It will show you where
you need to fill in some of your Food Guide Pyramid gaps!
Try this on for size: Print out the food diary on this page and use it to make notes on what you eat today - make extra
copies for other days - refer to them so you can improve on how you eat!
