Reporting Compliance with the Food Safety Inspection Requirement Reauthorization 2004: Implementation Memo SP-24

Section 9(h) of the National School Lunch Act requires each State agency (SA) to monitor and report to the Secretary of Agriculture the number of food safety inspections obtained by institutions that participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or School Breakfast Program (SBP). As indicated in the interim rule on School Food Safety Inspections published in the Federal Register at 70 FR 34627 on June 15, 2005, the report will be due to the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) by November 15, following each of School Years 2005-2006 through 2008-2009, beginning November 15, 2006.
