About
ORNA
The Office of Research, Nutrition, and Analysis conducts program
analysis and assessment that informs policymaking and management of
Federal nutrition assistance. It also serves as FNS' coordinating point
for program-related nutrition policy and services.
ORNA's staff comprises recognized experts in a wide range of
disciplines: evaluation, policy analysis, nutrition, sociology, economics,
statistics, and social psychology. Working together, they bring these
skills and knowledge to bear on the practical problems of directing and
managing the nation's nutrition assistance programs.
Through its Nutrition Services Staff, ORNA leads the effort to
integrate research-based, tested nutrition education and promotion
strategies into all FNS programs that promote the health and well-being of
program participants.
ORNA also provides timely analysis and evaluation of key policy and
program issues for Congress and the public, and works to coordinate the
Agency's strategic and operational planning processes.
