The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) works to improve eating and lifestyle behaviors as a preventive approach to reducing diet- related health problems among Americans. These programs play a vital role in promoting dietary and physical activity behaviors that are consistent with the current recommendations of the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGAs) and the MyPyramid food guidance system.
