Food Stamp Program

Radio Public Service Announcements

Client: FNS
Campaign: Food Stamp Program
Length: 0:60
Title: “Playground”
Date/Time: Updated February 13, 2007

SFX: Ambient sounds: playground, children’s voices and laughter

MARGIE: My grandkids are my pride and joy. And there’s nothing they love more than a day at the park. But if I want to keep up with those little bundles of energy, I have to stay healthy and eat right.

GRANDKIDS: [Calling from a distance] Come on grandma!

MARGIE: Sounds simple, but it’s not always easy. That’s where food stamps come in... With my bills and doctor visits, things can really add up. And that doesn’t always leave enough to keep good food on the table. So I joined the Food Stamp Program. It helps me buy the groceries I need.

MARGIE: Getting food stamps is based on income and other expenses. And for most Seniors like myself, the benefit is enough to make a real difference. I started by making a phone call.

FEMALE ANNCR: You or someone you know may have low income and be eligible for nutrition assistance. To find out more about the Food Stamp Program and how to apply, call 1-800-221-5689. That’s 1-800-221-5689. Food Stamps. Eat Right When Money’s Tight.

FEMALE ANNCR: A message from USDA.
