Campaign: Food Stamps Make America Stronger
Length: 0:60
Title: Advice From Mom

SFX: Ambient sound. Outside door opens. Theresa enters returning from work.

THERESA: Hi Mom.

MOTHER: Hi Theresa.

THERESA: And there’s my little treasure. [baby sound] Thanks for taking care of her, Mom. I wouldn't have been able to take this new job without your help.

MOTHER: You know I love watching her. But I'm concerned. How can you afford healthy food for you and the baby? Even with this new job, you've got so many bills. Have you thought about applying for food stamps?

THERESA: I’m already getting help from WIC. Can I get food stamps too?

MOTHER: I called the food stamp office today. And they said you can be on WIC and food stamps. Even with your job you still might qualify. It would certainly help until you're back on your feet.

THERESA: I guess I should find out more because I want healthy foods for me and my baby. I’ll go home and call the food stamp office for an appointment. What was that number again?

NARRATOR: FOOD STAMPS MAKE AMERICA STRONGER. For a free information packet about Food Stamps, call 1-800-221-5689. That’s 1-800-221-5689.
