The State is also distributing unemployment and workman’s compensation benefits via direct deposit and MasterCard branded cards. The State of Alabama reselected eFunds at a tiered cost structure starting at 85 cents per food stamp case month. The new contract becomes effective March, 2007 for 3 years plus two State option years plus two additional mutual option years.

The State is currently negotiating with JP Morgan to re-route some of the customer calls to Chicago, IL, as part of JP Morgan’s merger with BankOne.


Arkansas

    South Dakota has the option of adding TANF and Medicaid at a later date. South Dakota signed a contract with Wyoming to issue SD EBT cards to Wyoming clients who move out of Wyoming. The State implemented this in summer 2006. After Wyoming’s conversion to an online system May 29, 2007, this service will no longer be needed from South Dakota. The Dakotas released an EBT-2 RFP on June 1, 2007. Proposals are due Sept. 14, 2007.


Tennessee

  • Other information of interest: The State requested a 24-month contract extension to allow them time to re-release their RFP. FNS had agreed to an 18-month extension. However, the Tennessee General Assembly’s Fiscal Review Committee would allow the State only 60 days. FNS approved a 60-day contract extension so the State could complete contract negotiations with JP Morgan who had been awarded the State’s EBT contract by the court. A federal appeals court granted JP Morgan-Chase EFS the EBT contract extension an extension that ends Feb. 28, 2007 with the new contract beginning March 1, 2007.


Texas
