One Momís Story:
Worrying when kids donít eat
Sometimes I worry when my son doesnít want to eat. My doctor said not to force him. She said that his appetite could vary depending on how active he is and how much heís growing. She also said that small children eat what they need over time, so I should offer a variety of healthy meals and snacks throughout the day. If heís not hungry now, heíll make up for it later. Thatís why if my son eats a healthy breakfast and lunch, and has fruit and veggies for snacks, I know he might not eat much at dinnertime. When he tells me heís full, I believe him. And itís OK if he doesnít eat much, because I know heís getting healthy foods at other times of the day.
