TEFAP Snapshot

Here you will find a brief description about The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and a link to the TEFAP home page where you will find additional information about this program.

How it Works

In TEFAP, commodities are available to nonprofit organizations such as soup kitchens and shelters to use in preparing meals for the needy. Other nonprofit organizations, such as food banks, distribute commodities to the needy for household use. Each State establishes eligibility criteria for determination of participation in the program.
