Some SFSP sites serve specific groups of low-income children or
offer a regularly scheduled meal service as part of a residential or
day camp program.
Closed enrolled sites and camps qualify for SFSP based on a child's
eligibility for free and reduced price school meals.
To qualify as a closed enrolled site, at least 50 percent of the
enrolled children must be from households that meet the income
eligibility guidelines.
Camps can be residential or nonresidential. To qualify for SFSP, the
camp must offer meals as part of an organized program of activities
for enrolled children. The camp receives payment only for
meals served to children who meet the income eligibility guidelines.
Sponsors of closed enrolled sites and camps may use meal benefit
forms to determine each child's eligibility.
