    Schools are a key setting for healthy nutrition and physical activity strategies. Use the resources to help make your school and maintain a healthy nutrition environment.
 
Action Guide for School/Child Care Nutrition and Physical Activity Policies
    Connecticut State Department of Education created guides for school nutrition and physical activity policies, as well as child care nutrition and physical activities. The guides provide information on developing and implementing local policies to promote healthy eating and physical activity.
 
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): Local Wellness Policy Tools & Resources
    The CDC provides resources to assist schools and communities develop local wellness policies and programs.
 
Nutrition Standards for Foods In Schools: Leading the Way Toward Healthier Youth
    This report, published by the Institute of Medicine (IOM), provides nutrition guidance for schools seeking to implement or improve upon their current wellness policies. The report includes the IOM’s recommendations about nutrition standards for foods offered in competition with Federally reimbursable meals and snacks.
