Implementing Farm to School Activities
Farmers/Farmer Organizations Working with Schools
Selling agricultural products to local school districts is a
viable market for American farmers. School districts offer a
consistent, dependable market. In any given school district,
thousands of servings of fruits, vegetables, grains, meats, and
dairy products are served annually. To begin Farm to School
efforts within your community, you may consider starting with
the following:
1) Learn about the
school food service market
2) Contact a
school district within your
community
