How did the USDA Farm to School
Team engage with the partners that
assisted with farm to school
implementation during the 2010 site
visits? |

The Farm to School Team worked
through USDA regional offices and
the selected school districts to
ensure the Team met with all key
individuals and organizations
involved in the farm to school
activities. During the 2010 site
visits, the Team met with school
district administrators, school food
service, local farmers,
distributors, local and state
authorities, students, teachers,
parents and community partners.

How did the state agencies
participate in the 2010 site visits? |

The Farm to School Team worked
through USDA regional offices and
the selected school districts to
ensure the Team met with all key
individuals and organizations,
including relevant State agencies,
involved in the farm to school
activities. At the very least, a
State agency representative from the
Departments of Agriculture and
Education were invited by the
selected school district to attend a
“wrap-up” session that summarized
the Team’s visit and provided an
opportunity to share best practices
and lessons learned.

with area farmers during their 2010

Yes, the Farm to School Team met
with farmers, as well as
distributors, who were engaged with
school districts that were selected
for a site visits.

more schools in the future? |

Pending available funding, the
Farm to School Team may be able to
visit more schools in subsequent
years. Information regarding any
future plans for farm to school site
visits will be provided on the
