to school efforts off the ground? |

The Department offers
several grant
opportunities from
various agencies within
USDA. The
Supporting Farm to
School
webpage provides
information on USDA
grant opportunities that
may be of assistance in
beginning or expanding
farm to school efforts.
In addition, USDA has
several resources to
assist with the
implementation of farm
to school efforts. Those
resources are provided
on the UDSA Farm to
School website in a
section entitled
Resources.
School districts, as well as
farmers, are encouraged to contact
their local extension office, and
Departments of Agriculture and
Education to see if local and/or
regional funding opportunities or
resources are available.

Will the Fresh Fruits and
Vegetable Program be expanded to
secondary schools? |

Not at this time. The
Fresh
Fruit and Vegetable Program
only targets high-need elementary
schools.

support garden-based nutrition education
and other Farm to School efforts? |

Schools are encouraged to
contact their applicable State
agency which administers SNAP
(Special Nutrition Assistance
Program) in their State for details
on SNAP-Ed funding opportunities.
