GLICKMAN TO RELEASE USDA'S NEW FOOD GUIDE PYRAMID FOR YOUNG CHILDREN

WASHINGTON, March 23, 1999--Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman will unveil the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Guide Pyramid for Young Children at a news conference on Thursday, March 25 at 9:30 a.m. 

The news conference will be held at the Washington D.C. Capital Children's Museum at 3rd and H Streets, N.E. This "new" Pyramid is an adaptation of the original Food Guide Pyramid released in 1992. It was developed to focus on the food preferences and nutritional requirements of children ages two-to-six.

Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. for camera crews to set up.
