Tips from Award Winners Engaging the Community Publicize your participation in the HealthierUS Schools Challenge by speaking on local radio shows and talking to local newspapers. (Krauss Elementary, TX) Get staff involved and excited about promoting healthy foods! Encourage group activities and competition among the schools in promoting a a nutrition theme. For example, school food service staff can decorate aprons or hats with fruits and vegetables, wear them, then the District Administration can award prizes for creativity.
