Goal: Promote
Healthy Eating and Active Lifestyles
Educate individuals, families and communities about
healthy dietary patterns and regular physical activity - based on the
Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
Objective:
Throughout FY 2007, maintain the
Minnesota Health and Nutrition Policy
Committee as the umbrella organization
for SNAP.

Objective:
Maintain the effectiveness of the
Minnesota Food and Nutrition Network (MFNN).
Accomplishment:

The
Network membership included 28
persons who represented government,
community-based, academic and
community service agencies.
Approximately 16 agencies were
recruited to participate in the RFP
to provide nutrition education
projects to their low-income
clients.

of SNAP/Health and Nutrition Policy
Group attended the MFNN meetings.

By September 2007, increase
participation by 2% in the Food and
Nutrition Service programs throughout
the state. (The FSP and at least one
other nutrition assistance program will
be promoted.)
Accomplishment:

significantly increased in the
following nutrition assistance
programs: School Breakfast,
After-School Snack Program, Seamless
Summer Options (Breakfasts, Lunches
and Snacks); MN Food Support Program
and the FSNE.
