transportation, and other services to support the program.

education, and access to health services. Faith-based and community
organizations can refer mothers to the program or provide WIC services.
They can be also helpful in operating and promoting farmers’ markets
through the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program.

of low-income Americans, including elderly people, by providing them
emergency food and nutrition assistance through food pantries and soup
kitchens. Faith-based and community organizations operate many of the
recipient agencies, and can also provide information on other nutrition
assistance programs through contact with TEFAP beneficiaries.
